I'm not sure how to start this, but here goes. My name is Josh an I am very interested in learning Japanese. Frankly speaking, I am interesting in learning any language. I am choosing Japanese because I hope to someday work in the edutainment industry in Japan. As of now, I no little to no Japanese, but I willing to work hard to change that. I am interested in learning Hindi for a national fellowship that I am applying for. Although it is not guaranteed that I will receive the fellowship, I still feel as though it is an interesting language to learn. I am also a psychology major who plans on going to graduate school for multicultural studies.
I am a beginner with no contact with the language minus a few Wikipedia visits. Therefore I would need help with all areas of the language (especially grammer, reading, writing, etc.)
I could dedicate up to 5 hours a week and am looking for a tutor who is on the relatively cheap side being a college student ($20-25/hour) .
I am looking for a teacher who is very hands on and patient. Someone who has a unique yet effective style of teaching who is also fun. Someone local (Baltimore) obviously and who is not too far from my campus (b/c I do not have a car). As far as the lessons, it would be helpful to learn the basics but especially all the cultural things that I would really use and need to know should I be accepted to the fellowship program and go to India.
