I am currently completing my fourth year at the University of Ottawa with a major in Conflict Studies and Human Rights with a minor in Psychology. I am very committed to learning Spanish in order to be able to read, write and converse in three languages (English, French, and Spanish), and feel that this would be extremely beneficial in applying to the department of foreign affairs. I have a basic understanding of Spanish and have picked up the fundamentals of the language in two seperate courses offered at the University. I would really appreciate the language lessons to focus on the oral and written aspects of learning the language. I would like to dedicate one to two hours a week to Spanish lessons, and am looking for a professional and enthusiastic teacher who is genuinely interested in the improvement of his/her students. I would like lessons to be planned and progress in terms of how well the material is being grasped and understood.

I want to learn Spanish because I plan on applying to the International Peace Brigades program in Mexico, after teaching there for awhile. I am about at a low-intermedi ate level, but have forgotten most of the verb conjugations. I have not studied Spanish in awhile. I would be looking for one lesson a week, but want much expected of me in my free time.

I am a beginner student with very little background in foreign languages. I wish to learn the language because it is very common in Texas and I do like to travel to Mexico a good deal.
