My name is Silas Baxter-Neal and i am wanting to learn japanese conversation mostly but would like to eventually learn to read and write as well. My wife is japanese and i have learned alot of basic words from her and through my visits to japan but i would like to be able to be a fluent speaker. I travel alot so i need to have a flexible schedule for lessons but when i am home i don't have regular working hours so most times of day will work for me.

I would like to learn Urdu for several reasons:
1) my father and his family are from Pakistan
2) to become better familiarized with South Asian culture
3) for career advancement
Before moving to Washington, DC in 2009, I had been taking private lessons in Seattle for about 5 months; using the 'Let's Study Urdu' textbook by Ali S. Asani and Syed Akbar.
I would eventually like to have a fluent and academic understanding of Urdu.

Private person with plans next summer to travel to Turkey for 3 weeks. Hosted Turkish exchange student 3 1/2 years ago and traveling to meet her and family. We know some Turkish basics but would like to be ready for talking with them in normal day to day conversation. Also, we will be attending an engagement ceremony and will be asked by the young man for permission. I'd like to be able to do that OK.
