I attend Hunter College in NYC and took one semester of beginning Chinese (four months) and need to take the second section of the course. I need to take this in order to take the next level on Chinese in August. I am taking Chinese because I want it to be my major. I know about 250 characters and need to know another 250 by August. I arrive in Scotland on the July 7, 2005 and leave August 21, 2005. I would like to spend at least twenty hours a week learning. Is this an accredited program? And if so, does it transfer to be three credits in the United States? Thanks so much for your time.

Dear sir/madam,
I am interested in learning mandarin as I am hopefully going to go to china around october, hopefully to teach english. As such I currently have very little knowledge of the language -even the basics such as hello!!- so would be interested in learning intensively as much as I can both spoken written and grammatically . Time wise I am open to suggestions on how much you want to teach and am flexible on hours etc. The lessons would be commencing from the date when I finish my final exam, so may 10th.

I'm a french student and I'm going to Strathclyde University in Glasgow for one semester (from September 2004 to January 2005). I started to learn some basis of Chinese in France and I'd like to continue while I'm in Glasgow. I would prefer to be in a group to learn Chinese rather than having private lessons.

In 1991 I completed an MA, Honours in Mandarin Chinese; after that I worked in China for around 18 months. I would like to improve my Chinese - spoken, reading and listening comprehension . I would like to read and discuss newspaper stories with my teacher on a one to one basis. I would prefer to have a native speaker teach me.
