For the past year my family and I hosted a Thai foreign exchange student, and we became very close and I plan on visiting her in a few years. I want to learn more about Thai culture as well as the language before I visit. I would obviously be a beginner language wise. Learning to read and write in Thai has been a long time personal goal of mine, I can carry on a conversation in Thai, based off self taught methods (listening to Thai music, watching movies etc) but conversationa lly it is an area I would like to be more proficient in- so maybe I'm at intermediate speaking level and very beginning in reading and writing? Since I am motivated to learn, I plan on dedicating as much as 1-3 times a week to language learning, depending on how we can coordinate our schedules. I live in Seattle, WA and work a full time job, if evening or weekend classes are available, that would be preferred. I'm looking for a teacher who is patient, someone who can challenge and obviously, help me reach my goals. I will give my best shot and I can only hope that my teacher will do the same :)
