I am a beginner whose father has just married a full blooded croatian woman and I love her family, but i cannot speak the language as fluently as i would like.
I need improvement in all areas of the language and i will dedicate a lot of time into learning it as it is a langauge i feel i will use more so than any other besides english.
I am looking for a teacher who knows the language and will be able to help me because i am hoping to surprise my family.

Hello, I am looking for a Croatian language class which will provide a solid introduction to the language and basic conversationa l skills. I am planing to travel to Croatia in early May '05 and would like to be able to interact with local people in their own language. I was looking into some Berlitz options, but the up-to-thousan ds of dollars they would cost are entirely out of my budget; hoping to find something more in the $200-300 range for an entire course. I am an auditory learner, so hearing the language first-hand is very important.
My work hours are Mo-Fr 8a-430p, & availability is pretty much anything outside of these hours. Please let me know if you are able to assist!

I am a beginner, I am trying to learn vocabulary on my own but I am having trouble with the conjugation and grammer. It is a very difficult language. I would like to suprise my boyfriend by being able to speak to him and his family. I would like to dedicate as much time as it takes to feel like I have a good foundation and understanding . My father is from Croatia and my grandparents are still there. I really want to learn conversationa l Croatian so I can communicate directly with my grandparents and with my Dad in his native tongue. I have a very basic knowledge of Croatian and have been told I have great pronounciatio n skills. I would like to learn to write a little bit but mostly conversationa l usage is what I am looking for. I would be interested in dedicating several hours a week to lessons. I am open to private lessons or classroom, but not so interested in phone or online lessons. I would prefer a teacher with a native Croatian background but it is not a requirement-- someone with a proficiency in the language would be great. Oh, yes, and NOT Serbo-Croatia n (it's not the same thing!) but pure Croatian.
