I HAVE A MINOR IN MANDARIN CHINESE AND GRADUATED WITH A DEGREE OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES FROM TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY. I STUDIED FOR FOUR MONTHS IN BEIJING, CHINA.
I WOULD CONSIDER MY LEVEL, THOUGH, STILL BEGINNER. I AM LOOKING TO READ, WRITE, AND CONVERSE FLUENTLY.
I USE MY SKILL FOR WORK, SOMETIMES, AND WOULD LIKE TO EVENTUALLY HAVE A JOB WHERE I USE IT A MAJORITY OF THE TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO DEDICATE 2 DAYS A WEEK TO MY LANGUAGE LESSONS AND PERHAPS EVERY OTHER SATURDAY OR SUNDAY.
I HAVE SOME MATERIALS FROM MY PREVIOUS EDUCATION, BUT AM OPEN TO NEW.

Hello, my name is Richard. I would like to learn Mandarin for several reasons. Career advancement is one reason but more importantly Atlanta has become an asian melting pot and many Chinese are failing to learn proper English. Also my grandkids are being urged to learn another language. The common thought nowdays is to learn Chinese. It would be helpful if I could learn at the same time as my grandchildren .
I would be a beginner. I am 56 and probably would not learn as fast as someone younger but I am very intelligent and a hard worker. I am available every day before 3:00 pm. I would prefer an older teacher either 1 to 1 or in a small class. I would also prefer a female teacher as they are usually more patient. I would accept any age or gender.

I am interested in learning Chinese for business purposes. I am a beginner and need tutoring in all areas. I am looking at dedicating at least 3 to 4 hours a week to learning Chinese. The most important thing in a teacher is that they can produce results. Even if every lesson was fun and interesting, if at the end of the day I don't have any results to show for it, it isn't going to fly.
