I would like 2 of my daughters, age 15 and 14 to learn Mandarin because it's an important language to learn. They've been going to North County Chinese School for 9 years; learning to read, write and speak Mandarin. However, they have limited ability to speak Mandarin which is why I'm looking for a tutor to teach mainly conversation. I think 1 hour a week would be alright if not 1 1/2 hrs. I'm looking for a teacher who's patient, stern, but nurturing and enjoys teaching kids.
As far as lessons, I would like the lessons to be useful for everyday life (i.e. conversations dealing with going to the movies, restaurant, traveling, dating, school life, working, etc.)

As a teacher of health and fitness I have had the honor of traveling to Tawian for the last three years. I have tried to learn Mandarin from tapes but i have not been very sucessful. I have found that the tapes have allowed me to have a small understanding of what is being said but not to communicate in the way that I want.
I would be a diligent student.
Because I work durning the week i would only be able to take classes on saturday and sunday.
My goal is to return to Tawain in May and be able to speak to my host in their language and to improve upon my ability to recognize what is being said.
please help me to reach this goal. I will be a diligent student.

I am learning Mandarin as a hobby.
My proficiency is HSK 3 (oral); HSK 2 (reading writing). I have studied for 3 years, including one year (2008-2009) living in Hangzhou and studying one semester at Zhejiang Da Xue.
I would like to focus on my conversationa l ability and reading ability.
I am looking to have 3 hours per week private tuition at my office. Preferably Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7pm - 8.30pm.
I am looking for an experienced teacher with a background in teaching to foreign students. I am not looking to follow a formal sylabus, but would like to cover and revise the core grammatical structures.
