Hello,
My fiance and I would like to learn to speak and read Thai. We have travelled to Thailand many times now and we are planning on staying there for twelve months in the future and feel a need to learn the language more as we only know the very basics. We also have many friends in Southern Thailand and wish to comunicate with them better. We would like to study from home in one to one and a half hour lessons two to three times a week in the evening. I hope someone can help us.

I'm Sam. I am from Perth Australia and I'm interested in continueing to learn Mandarin which I learnt in Shanghai while I was living and working there for two and a half years. I came back to Australia in September last year. I am able to have basic conversations in Chinese and would like to improve this and begin to learn to write. Depending on cost I would like to spend 1 or two hours a week in lessons and more with self study. I would like structured lessons with a view to taking a qualification in Chinese in the future. From the first time i visited Thailand, i fell in love with the culture, the people and the country. I am hoping to spend more time there in the future. And being able to speak the language will be helpful.
A s of the moment i can only speak very basic Thai so i will need to work on all areas but perhaps mainly conversation.
I will have to fit the lessons in around my work, but i hope to dedicate a fair amount of time to this.
I guess the qualities i am looking for in a teacher are : patience with an easygoing nature and maturity.
