My husband's family speaks Mandarin and I would like to learn so I can communicate with them. I am a beginner. I would like to focus on learning spoken Mandarin rather than written Mandarin. I am looking for approximately 1-2 hours of tuition per week. I am looking for a teacher that is able to start at a simple level and provide lessons that are more than 'repeat after me' style. I am very keen to learn and am happy to join an existing langauge group.

I have studied chinese for two semesters in college but I forgot most of it. I went to China the summer of 2009 and I realized how important mandarin was if I wanted to live in Asia because everyone can speak it.
I want to build more of my vocabulary, conversation and improve my pronunciation .
I want to put 3-4 hours of language lesson each week for 1.5 months before I go back to college.
I am looking for a teach who is fun and good at teaching
