I work for a law firm with mainly Vietnames clients. I am Chinese, but born and raised in Houston, Texas. I can understand Vietnames if spoken slowly and very basic words. I can respond a little but am shy to say the wrong thing. I don't want any elders to think that I am disreprecting them in any way so I normally tell them I can only respond in English and would like for that to change that I can communicate with them back in their language.

My husband is from Pakistan and I wanting to learn the complexities of the language, but I feel that I may need a teacher to teach me the more complicated conjugations etc. I learn very well in a structured environment. So all I need is a text book, a teacher, and a class a few times a week to become a comfortable speaker of Urdugm/Hindi.
