My name is Sandy. I'm looking for some in person/group or live chat Chinese lessons. I've tried listening CDs and Chinese Pod, but they both have the same drawback: no feedback on pronunciation and no one to practice conversing with.
I'm still at a beginner level and find it frustrating. When I watch youtube.com with native speakers, I'm able to catch only a few words in an entire video. I think feedback and actual conversation practice would help greatly (and is how I learned my first foreign language - French).
I want to learn Chinese mostly because a member of my church is a missionary in Tianjin. She teaches English to Chinese youth. I hope to someday be able to go on a mission trip there to help her out. I am also interested in learning to write Chinese characters as I learn to speak.
I am looking for a teacher in the Gwinnett area, Lawrenceville /Grayson/Snell ville area would be ideal.

I'm looking for a private Mandarin tutor with previous teaching experience in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam.
Lessons will have to be after 5pm on weekdays, or possibly some weekends (I work full time). I want to learn intensively. My Chinese at the moment is very basic.
I want to learn conversationa l Mandarin and also simplified characters (if you only know traditional characters, I can work with that).
