I am lower intermediate in speaking/list ening and beginner in reading/writi ng.
I am doing my PhD in Taiwan and plan to remain there after graduaation, so I am trying to review and improve my mandarin before returning. I will be spending one year in the States (job related) before going back.
I would like to invest as many hours as possible. I am the coodinator of a college language program and teach English and Spanish myself, but hope to use as much of my free time as possible to devote to my mandarin study.
I would hope to find credit or non-credit mandarin classes in the Philadelphia community area. Ideally, I would hope to find a comphrehensiv e and demanding program that really pushes me to work hard, study hard and improve myself!

I am currently a beginner in speaking mandarin. i am learning the language because i find not just the language but the culture fascinating. I am currently in school and have many chinese students in my class that can only communicate in mandarin, it would make me happy to be able to discuss thing with them without having a translator nearby. I feel i can dedicate a good portion of my time to studying the language, i am very flexible. I am looking for a teacher that can teach me the ins and outs of this language, maybe even some of its culture.
