Hello,
I would very much like to learn the Urdu/Hindi language and I'm looking for a teacher that spoke Hindi or Urdu as their first language. Experience teaching would be a plus, but really isn't necessary as teaching one's native language comes naturally and relatively easy for most people. Fluency in English, however, is mandatory.
I wish to learn phonetically (roman alphabet), but other than that, I would let you tailor the lessons/struc ture.
Please reply with a little bit about your background, hourly rate, and why you think you'd make a good instructor. Also, please be someone who is patient. I am very serious about this, NOT someone who is ever a quitter, and I would like to find an instructor relatively soon for either hourly or 1.5 hour weekly lessons. If you made it all the through my posting, I do appreciate it!

Im really interested in learning Hindi and Gujarati. The main reason is that I have many Indian friends and I found very interesting the fact to learn these languages (start from zero).
I want to dedicate around one hour per day to my leasons and I just need a good teacher, pacient, that speaks english (and if she/he speak spanish will be perfect).

I wish to learn Hindi for travel, interacting with people in my city, and possibly work at a later date. I'm an ABSOLUTE beginner so the teacher will have to start with the most basic vocabulary and also teach me Devnagari. I need improvement in every area of the language. I'd like to study with a private tutor for 2-4 hours per week. As I'm an adult beginner, a native Indian Hindi speaker who is functional in English (not necessary to be fluent) will work best for me. Above all, he'd need to be very patient and willing to teach everyday Hindi in addition to more formal Hindi as the lessons progress. Ideally, I'd like a native Hindi-speaker who can teach me in the main dialect used by rural (village) Hindi speakers of the central-/nort h part of India as well as that used by Indians living in the big cities.
