I am looking for a tutor for my 10 year old daughter who has been learning Mandarin Chinese for the past 6 months or more. She has learned the pinyin and is now working with a student text/workbook called Chinese Paradise book 1B, which her teacher had recommended and we purchased from her friend in Bejing. She is learning both reading and trying to write the characters. She has been privately tutored by a native Chinese lady who is also teaching her own daughter Mandarin (they also speak Cantonese). Right now her teacher cannot continue due to her own work schedule and classes. Her teacher said she is doing very well, and her pronounciatio n is around 85% correct overall. My daughter is very interested in learning this language more than the ones offered in school, although she has taken both Spanish and French. She is friends with her teacher's daughter (same age) and they can also practice with each other if they like. So I am looking for someone in the Reading, PA area or not too far away from there. I cannot travel to Philadelphia as it is too far and I also have a job which takes up a lot of my time. If you can help or know anyone, please contact me. I would also be interested in any classes for beginners her age.

My name is Isaac Smith and I am looking for a Chinese teacher that is serious and professional and has an extensive background with the Chinese language and culture.
I just recently graduated from high school and I want to learn Chinese because I'm currently pursuing an entrepreneuri al venture as well as a political career and I feel that I would be able to connect with the people I'm involved with on a higher level if I had more of a broader culture awareness. I also wish to learn the Chinese language because I would like to travel the world for personal, business, and political reasons and China is one of my first destinations.
I have taken previous courses in Chinese for two years in High School so I know a little of the basics but since I have not had the chance to communicate with another person who knows the language I have become extremely rusty. So as a student, I will dedicate as much time that the teacher deems necessary (Maybe even more) to my lessons and learning.
