My level is beginner, but I have some notions and vocabulary because of online self training and previous trip to China (Tianjin)
I'm learning Chinese mostly for personal improvement purpose but also for future business opportunities .
I want to improve both written and spoken Chinese, but the emphasis should be put on oral expression and comprehension since it's something I can't do by myself.
I don't have much free time presently but 2 to 4 hours + homework should be a good plan.
The main qualities I'm looking for in a teacher is her/his attention to detail, knowledge of the language and, of course, that she/he enjoys teaching.

I have been learning chinese mandarin in my own Country for the past 2 years. Progress is very slow because I have only 2 sessions per week. Each session is 1 hour in duration.
I know some basics in mandarin but I am not satisfied with my progress during the past 2 years. I feel that the best way to learn is to have constant exposure and practice in reading, writing and speaking. This will help me improve on my vocabulary and grammar.
I have chosen the suzhou region because my brother(wo didi) presently works in suzhou. So accommodation will not be a problem. I am planning to be on holiday in suzhou during the month of July, August & September 2009.
If I can get a teacher for a 3-month intensive course will be very helpful. Study materials I have used so far is 'Conversation al Chinese 301' [Hanyu hui hua, san bai yi ju].
Pleas e let me know who can help.
