I have always wanted to learn Greek because it is a big part of my family culture, being a Greek-America n. I have some knowledge already of basic vocabulary, conversationa l, and limited grammar - which I find the most difficult. I can also read and write a little. Working full time, I can only dedicate one time a week with a one on one tutor, but can practice and reinforce concepts daily on my own.
I would like to study with a tutor who speaks Greek as their native language and can help give me a jump start to something I've always wanted to do.

I am currently in the process of adopting a child from Kazakhstan & have been attempting to learn Russian on my own with little success. I tend to learn much better in a teacher/stude nt environment. I only know about 5-10 words currently & can not read or write the language. My immediate need is to learn how to properly pronounce words & to navigate my way around Kaz when I travel, as well as to be able to communicate with my infant during the initial transition. I would like to take classes (private or semi-private) at least twice a week for about an hour or two depending on progress. Since I hope to travel soon to meet my child, I would like to get started quickly to absorb as much as I can before then.
I need a teacher that is open to adjusting the lessons to meet my needs. They must be patient and competent.

I want to learn Finnish just because my heart is telling me that Finland is where I belong. I am just a beginner at the language, I know a few words that is about it. I want to be able to speak fluent Finnish one day and to do so I am willing to dedicate literally ALL of my time to learn the language as best as I possibly can(in two years preferably since I am going to Finland then). In a teacher, I am looking for someone who has dedicated their life to the language or is a native speaker. I am looking for someone to explain to me the complexity of the language and to break it down as best as they can.
