I want to study Japanese, because its my wish to stay and study in Japan.
I am a beginner in the study of the language. It is my wish to improve upon my grammar as well as constructing meaningful sentences with effective conversationa l skills. If i have the chance to study the language i would like to spend at least four to five hrs for a lesson and twice a week. I would be grateful if i could get native Japanese as my teacher.

I am interested in maintaining and improving my Japanese, which I studied for 2 years at Sydney University (Elementary Japanese & Japanese 1) in 1972 & 1973. I began teaching it in 1981 to Year 9 in NSW High Schools and taught it to Year 12 Beginner level, both face to face and by Distance Education, up to 2010, and am currently tutoring a beginner. I also did an intensive course at Kai School in Tokyo for a month in 1991. I consider myself at intermediate level. I would like to improve my kanji recognition & production, my knowledge of advanced grammar and my conversationa l ability. I am also interested in attempting the JLPT.
I would like to do 2 hour lessons once a week in a group situation, if possible. I am available during the day on a Tuesday (preferred) or on Saturday, or on Monday or Wednesday evenings.
I would like my teacher to have experience of teaching Japanese to English speakers and to be interesting by using a variety of teaching techniques.

I am aiming to learn Japanese in order to benefit me whilst I travel to Japan for 3 months and also have the asset of speaking another language in the future. I have absolutely no proficiency in this language and am a total beginner. I wish to particularly focus on conversation and the written Hiragana and Katakana. I wish to dedicate at least 30 mins a day 3 times a week.
Qualities I look for include patience, enthusiasm to teach and the ability to adopt various methods of teaching in order to aid my learning ability of the language.
