I am a probationary psychologist and currently work as a counsellor. I would like to learn Irish Gaelic for personal reasons. I am a complete beginner (have not had any lessons) but am used to studying and am prepared to spend time working on the language. I would like to learn Chinese because i have mostly asian friends and i would like to speak in their native language with them. I can speak Japanese and would like to study the chinese characters and learn what they mean in chinese and their difference to Japanese characters.
I also read alot of books about Chinese history, and i have studied alot about the Cultural Revolution.
I am planning to go to China in the future and i would like to start learning now so i can communicate with people when i get there.
