I want to learn Thai as a hobby, and also I have Thai friends and visit Thailand to visit them and they come to Sydney to visit me and would like to be able to join in with the conversation instead of waiting for it to be translated.
I am a beginner though know a few words, though need to learn grammar, conversation etc.
My days off work vary from week to week as I am a shift worker though have blocks of days off 3-4 in a row and able to dedicate a couple of hours per day or similar.
I am looking for a teacher that has lots of patience, friendly and willing to teach without getting frustrated, a teacher who has experience in teaching beginners and is willing to learn together.And of course can have a laugh at my mistakes from time to time, a teacher that is close to my suburb is preferable.

I have started learning Thai Language last year 2009, i love the language and its for career advancement.
I stop at beginner level.And i would like to start all over again.
I will dedicate at lease 4-5 hours a day for a week.
I'm looking for a teacher can give me a good explanation and also addition note that i always make mistake in.A teacher that dedicated very much in teaching, passion and good tamper.

Hello, and thank you very much for your time. My original reason for learning Thai was to better communicate on a trip I was going to make to Thailand with a Thai co-worker.I have never been over seas and my freind is Thai so I thought this was the time to finally get out and see some of the world,especia lly since my freind keeps saying how beautifull Thailand is!! He is from Chiang Mai.but since I have now been studying on my own,,I have found that I have made some real progress esspecialy in reading and writing,I find it very satisfying to be able to speak another language that is so different than english,,and I would like to progress to the next level. As for my proficiency level,I believe I would be somewhere about low intermediate. As for my areas of improvement I think it would probably be in comprehension ,since I study alot of vocab. but dont have a chance to hear it very much. I would like to spend about 2 hours of study a day. I am looking for a teacher who is willing to spend most of our lesson time speaking to me in Thai, and that would also be able to give me some kind of work to take home that I could work on.
