My Spanish level is beginner and I have never taken a Spanish course before. I plan to go to Honduras at the end of February to take part in an archaeologica l dig. I would like to learn both basic conversationa l Spanish to help me get around town and technical language that I can use to communicate with Honduran archaeologist s and workers. I would like a teacher who is familiar with archaeology or social science field work in Latin America. I am very committed to learning quickly and am willing to invest as much time and energy as necessary. I do not have false hope that I will become fluent in such a short time, but I do know that I can master the material needed for my work in Honduras.

USF Medical Student who desires the ability to communicate with Spanish-speak ing only patients upon graduation in July. I took four years of Spanish in high school however have lost most of it over the years. I am seeking conversationa l development. I would like to spend 3-4 hours/week with tutor. Between meetings I will study hard and feel I can progress very quickly. My tutor needs to be a female who is comfortable discussing women's health issues/pregna ncy. After building my medical vocabulary and basic conversationa l skills, I will provide the tutor with clinical scenerios including a specific medical complaint. We will then have mock doctor/patien t interviews. Looking to start first week of February for 2 months or more.
