I studied Russian in high school and majored in Russian in college. By the time I finished college, I had achieved a high level of written and conversationa l proficiency for a non-native speaker (which is to say, a fairly basic level of proficiency overall). It has been seven years since I graduated college, and I have very rarely used the Russian language in that time. As a result, I am now at a very basic level of proficiency in both spoken and written Russian.
I would like to regain my conversationa l Russian skills. I am much less concerned with my level of written proficiency. I would like to do this as a matter of personal fulfillment (I enjoyed studying Russian and regret losing my skills) and also because I believe it will help my career.
I would like to dedicate about an hour per week to regaining my conversationa l fluency. The qualities I am most looking for in a teacher are: patience, friendliness, and a sense of humor. But especially patience.

I am actually looking for a Persian/Farsi translator for an interview. I work for a production company in london and we are filming an interview in Minneapolis and the interviewee must answer my questions in english and then in Farsi. We need a translator to make sure the Farsi versions are very similar to the english. The interview will take place on May 19th (location TBC).
