I learned Mandarin while living in Taiwan. Since then, I've felt very strongly that I want to master as many East Asian languages as I can (Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Etc.) I would rate my Mandarin ability fairly highly--maybe 7.5 or 8 out of 10. My accent and tones are almost always spot on (I've been mistaken for a Chinese person over the phone and sometimes in person when I'm not seen right away). By biggest focus is improving my understanding of the grammar and expanding my vocabulary. I have virtually no experience with Cantonese or Korean and am currently studying Japanese in school.
As I am a full-time college student, I am somewhat limited in terms of time and money, but somewhere around one or two hours a week would be fantastic. I feel there's time for a substantial amount of material to be learned, but also plenty of time to review it all. I would like personalized lessons, but also structure which allows me to ask questions on the one hand, and learn from useful, prepared material on the other.

I am applying to make Aliyah (immigration) to Israel. I used to be very fluent when I was 17, and feel that i can pick it up quickly. I can still read Hebrew fairly well. I can converse, but at slow speeds, and with poor grammar. I can read at the Elementary school level at this point, but I used to be able to read and understand Ma'Ariv, and was interviewed in Hebrew on Israeli Army Radio in 1981.
I would like to get a headstart on Ulpan before immigrating.
I am willing to dedicate many hours per week to this task, especially if my application is approved by the Jewish Agency.
Th e teacher should be fluent at the native level of proficiency.
