Hello, my name is Laurie. I am looking to learn MAIN LAND Portuguese not Brazilian if possible. Portuguese was my first language until I was 5, but I have forgotten most of it now. I would like my husband and I to be able to converse with my portuguese family. More than anything I would like to learn to speak the language, learning to write the language is not as important to me. My husband is canadian and has no portuguese background at all. We would probably take these lessons together and continue to speak the language at home with our children. If you can help please let me know.

I am a beginner. I would like to think Iknow quite a bit of wors, though, having tried to learn the language on my own several times. I have been very interested (I should say obsessed) with the culture since a very young age and I feel it's time to make a real effort to learn the language. I do not need to learn how to write for now, just converse. I would eventually like to read (right now, I am fine with only knowing romaji). Also, pronunciation is very easy for me because I am very fluent in french.I would dedicate 4-5 hours/week to lessons. I would like a teacher who is fun and teaches in more unconventiona l ways than rigidly.
