I wish to improve my Cantonese for two purposes: professional purposes, and to help my son with his Cantonese lessons.
I took Cantonese lessons as a child. I learned Mandarin in University.
The first 3-4 years of my childhood was spent in Hong Kong. My family members speak Cantonese. I was raised in an English speaking country.
I wish to dedicate 1 hour per week to language lessons.
I am looking for a teacher who is adaptable; understands professional dialogue; familiar with children learning Cantonese; can translate between Mandarin and Cantonese;
Alternatively :
We are a mother and child wanting to learn Mandarin together - separate lessons.
The child is 7 years old and has been learning Mandarin and Cantonese. The home language is English.
The mother can speak Cantonese and has learned Mandarin in university.
We want to dedicate 45 minutes to the child's lesson, and 1 hour to the adult lesson.
The purpose of the lesson is for 2nd language learning, daily use, tutoring for Chinese school.
Qu alities we are looking for in a teacher are: patience; understand children learning 2nd language; understand professional dialogue.
