I want to learn Japanese because I plan to go there. I don't want to expect people to speak English when I go there. I want to speak the language that is native to the country. I have also always loved Japanese culture (food, movies, people, design, Miyazaki).
I would like to have one or two classes per week (about an hour long).
Con versational Japanese and reading basic Japanese is what I would like.

I want to learn chinese for a couple of reasons:
1 . I recently got engaged and my fiance is taiwanese. My side of family can communicate with her because we can speak English. But her family speak very little English. Out of my respect I want to be able to atleast communicate with her parents. Im not really into learning how to write but I am interested in learning mandarin to be able to communicate.
2. My father's business also deals with alot of chinese prospects so in terms I think learning mandarin can also be a plus for my future opportunity
3. Also been very interested in learning mandarin
C urrently, I am a beginner. I am not sure where to start but hopefully I can find an instructor that can help me to the best of my needs.

My level is basic. I started learning russian several years ago after a teacher from Russia had visited our college. I fell in love with this language.
