I have a good friend who I met in New York and who is Pakistani and lives in Pakistan. I visited with my friend in Pakistan for one month in 2008 and had a great time. I enjoy the people and the culture very much and I wish to return to Pakistan and this time, to speak Urdu. I do not understand, read or speak the language, except for a few words. When I was ther in 2008, most of the people I met accommodated me and spoke English. This time I would like to speak to them in their own language. I don't want to learn to read the alphabet. I can read transliterati ons of the words.
I would like to take a conversation class in New York, and I prefer Brooklyn. I like to interact face to face. I can take a class once a week, and the time of day is flexible. I want to learn rules of grammar, sentence structure and pronunciation in a relaxed environment, but serious.

I am trying to learn morrocan arabic so I can speak fluently with my husband and his family. I am very interested in learning all aspects of the foreign language and possibly even french becuase they speak both morrocan arabic/french combined. It really is amazing and I want so badly to be a part of the conversations .I would gladly dedicate 20 or more hours a weeks if necessary to practice and learning. My goal is to speak in basic morrocan arabic conversation by this summer 2010. My husband is planning a trip home to Rabat, Morroco for me to meet his family.

My family hopes to move to Israel this summer. While we can read and understand some Hebrew, we really can't converse and I am especially wanting my son (13) who will be going into the Israeli school system to become fluent so he will excel in school both academically as well as socially. There is also another family who would probably join us if we could get an Ulpan going. They have two teenagers and an 11 yr. old.
