I have a big motivation to learn the Russian Language. I am now in the best relationship of my life with an awesome Russian lady. We hope to become married by November of 2010 and move her and her two daughters to the USA at that time. I have three scheduled trips to Russia between now ans then. I am a beginner, I have tried to use the Pimsleur method to learn but I am always saying a 'B' sound instead of a 'P' sound which is the real language. I just returned from a trip to my lady who lives near St Petersburg. I was there for 10 days and I became very aware that I was lacking very much in language skills that I need to communicate basically with my lady while I was there. I return to her on the 10 of February. I would like an opinion on how much I can learn between now and then. I would like to carry on at least simple sentences and understand more of what they are saying to me. I need a patient teacher because I have trouble getting the emphasis right when I am saying the words and I know this is very important for the Russians to be able to understand me.

There are two reasons why I would like to learn proper Urdu. First, I want to improve my professional credentials by passing the Illinois Board of Education Urdu Fluency Exam. This certificate will legally allow me to teach English to Pakistani students. I would also serve as liason to the families in the school community.
On a personal level, I would like to enjoy all the Urdu literature and poetry that my parents have collected through the years. I would like to understand the subtle verse and prose.
In terms of my own language abilities in Urdu, I consider myself at an intermediate level - Verbally. I want to learn the proper grammar structures and the correct use of formal vs. informal language. Most importantly, I need to learn to read and write.
I would like to work with a tutor two or three times a week. I would like my lessons to be structured and organized. I am available for lessons between the hours of 5pm and 9pm Central Standard time. I have a web-cam and can scan & e-mail assignments.
