In the future I plan to pursue a career in foreign affairs, and I believe that learning as many languages as possible will be helpful. I speak fluent Spanish and English, and am currently learning Portuguese. I feel that Mandarin and Arabic are both useful languages in helping me succeed in the future. I am a beginner in Mandarin Chinese. I have been learning this for more than 8 months (one class per week) from a native speaker teacher (from Taiwan) and want to continue developing my Mandarin skills when I move to Bangalore. This is not for any business purposes or for passing tests. It is my own personal interest in Chinese culture,liter ature, philosophy, poetry and more importantly calligraphy. I took a 8 weeks course in kai shu and has been practicing on and off.
I need to keep ramping up on spoken and written chinese and would like to dedicate about 3 hours a week initially. It will be nice to learn from a teacher who can constantly help me learn more about the Chinese history, culture and literature.

He aspires to use his Chinese speaking ability to help him communicate with Chinese speakers as he plans to play professional baseball, become an environmental management specialist, and explore digital media. He is a beginner (one middle school class & some online study) and needs to learn grammar and conversationa l. Can he work with you 2 hours a week?
