I have always been interested in the Japanese language and culture, I love the diverstity of the language and the people. Currently I have no experience with the Japanese language, but I have the want and the ability to learn.
I wish to learn this foreign language so I can speak with friends that I have made in their native language as well as having the ability to watch foreign films without the subtitling.
I wish to put as much time into this as possible, or as much time as my teacher feels that I will need to put into learning what needs to be completed at any given time in the lesson(s).
I would like my teacher to be confident about what he/she is teaching me. I would also like my teacher to be able to keep my attention at all times and help me want to do well and not just push me through something without first making sure I am grasping the concept. Learning a foreign language can be hard and i want this to be a great experience for us both.

I am a beginner, but have had some lessons. My goal in learning Chinese is to become proficient enough to carry on technical conversations in the language.
I would like to spend between 2-4 hours a week in private lessons.
The qualities I would look for in a teacher are that they are a fluent speaker (native is a plus, but not necessary), are highly proficient in english, have some teaching experience, and are just a little bit patient.
