I wish to learn Russian because I am traveling to Ukraine in July. I am a beginner and I would like to begin a foundation to converse and to be able to read cyrillic. I have until July 12 when I leave. i am looking for a native speaker who can help me. I have tried some books and software but I have questions that I have no one to ask and I wish to speak with some one who is familiar with the language to help me with pronunciation and accent. 'What proficieny level?' - absolute Beginner. Although I am also using the Rosetta Stone Software in order to help my learning process.
' Why are you learning the language?' - I am learning the language because the company that I work for is centralized out of Russia and while they all speak English, I have become good friends with many of them via the internet and have been invited to go over for a visit.
'How much time can I dedicate?' - as much as possible. I can dedicate many hours per day to the learning process.
' what qualities are you looking for in your lessons or in your teache?' - I am looking for patience and aauthenticty in my insttuctor. someone who is either native to Russia or who has a thorough aauthentic proficiency in Russian as well as cultural knowledge (ie. has lived/worked in Russia) who can accurately teach me the way they speak in Russia and not just arbitray grammatically 'correct' rules of Russian.
