I'm going to make this as straight forward as I can, as the website discourages any form of informality with, hopefully, my future tutors.
So, I will begin with as to why I want to learn Spanish.
To be honest I love learning languages, but I'd rather speak it than write it. And in about five months(June 2008) I will have to attend the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program which makes learning a second language mandatory. The language choices include: Spanish, Mandarin and French.
I have learned Mandarin, and even though it's a practical language to learn in my country, I have found it quite difficult to grasp quickly. French is something that I'm still unsure about. But I have been to Spain, and I have found the language pretty interesting. Also, it doesn't seem as hard as Mandarin. I would like to have a head start on the subject when I get into my college.
N ow, as for my proficiency.. . Which only consist of a few spanish words that I had learned from a phrase book.
I don't mind spending time on learning, I'm practically free until June, so I wouldn't mind a few lessons each week.
And as for the things that I look in a teacher, I have always been inclined to nice people. I work better with positive reinforcement . And as long as they are able to teach me what I need, I have no other needs.
PS: I'm never this formal.

We are beginners. Four of us in the family would like to learn spanish for two hours a day. As we would like an intensive course for 6 weeks. Mostly conversation skills are required along with basic grammer, as the boys may be playing a sport in Barcelona.The boys are 20 years old and my husband and me are in our late forties.

this would be for my son who is a first grader. He attends aSpanish Immersion school and has been for the last 2 years. However, he refuses to speak it and it is a must in order for him in order to go to the next grade level. Basicly this would be to catch him up and feel more comfortable about speaking the second language.

I have completed Level 2 classes at the Warren Hardy School in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and I have completed the Level 3 workbook on my own. Thus, the only tenses I have not studied are the subjunctive tenses. I consider myself to be at the intermediate level insofar as grammer is concerned.
I am learning Spanish to be able to do volunteer work among Hispanics.
I want to concentrate on listening/con versation improvement. I am willing to devote two appointments a week toward learning Spanish.
I want a teacher who is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico or Central or South America and who is experienced and patient.
