I am interested in improving my tagalog. I have completed 3 courses at San Francisco City College and also completed a Rosetta Stone program.
I would say I am intermediate level. I have a large vocabular and understand more than I can verbalize.
I need to improve my conversationa l tagalog. I am in need of an environment that will force me to speak the language.
I think the amount of time I would want to spend on learning Tagalog would depend on the program offered.
T he qualities I would like in a teacher would be, patient, friendly and encouraging.

Purely for pleasure. I'd like to attend the Romanian Summer Language School in Bucharest in 2010, and it would be nice to have some knowledge of the language before then. I visited Romania in 2001, and have always wanted to go back.

I am a beginner or slightly better speaker. I have been listning to CDs and POD casts to help me start. After a year and a half I would like to take some classes where I can ask question and get some feedback on what I am doing correctly and incorrectly. My family orriginated in Napels and I was hoping to go there within the next couple of years. I also have 2 children that I am teachin Italian as well. I would start and my wife might be intrested in joining as well.

I heard a poem read by a little girl from Galway in the Irish language and I fell in love with it. I bought the Teach Yourself Irish course, but the course does not answer 90% of the questions I have. I need a fluent or native person who cane explain to me how the lanugage really works and can help me with my pronuciation.
I am not a complete beginner. I do know some of the very basic grammar rules, but I have no speaking capability at all. I know that I will never be a native Irish speaker, but I would love to be able to visit Ireland and have a real conversation with someone who wants to speak Irish, or to turn listen to RnaG on the internet and understand at least half of it. While I am learning for my own personal growth, I am serious about becoming conversationa l and maybe even fluent in the language. I am willing to committ to the study of Gaeilge if I believe that I have a teacher who is going to help me.
I don't have an ideal teacher in mind. I would love a native speaker, but a fluent speaker who has had personal success with the language in a native environment will do also. My teacher will have to be patient with me. My ears and mouth are not trained for speaking a language other than English. It will be rough in the beginning.
