My Name is Anup Ravindranath and i am looking forward to learning th eJaoanese Language. I am currently working for Honda Middle east as a Technical Instructor and my proficiency level in Japanese is 'Beginner'.
I would like to learn japanese as this would help me in my career. I have just come back from japan wherein i was for almost a month. Since my proffession requires me to travel to japan and interact with Japanese personnel i would like to receive a formal training in Japanese wherein it would be possible for me to Read write and converse in Japanese.
I would liketo dedicate about 4 hrs in a week to learning this language and limit the total duartion to about 2 months.
It would be apropriate to say that my teacher should be well versed in all forms of the japanese language and be able to communicate with me in english.

I took up learning Japanese during my stay in Japan for a two-year period (2002-2004) and completed the Japanese ab Initio program, a course offered in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. I have continued studying the language - spoken and written - informally over the past year by having weekly sessions with a Japanese native speaker and self-study from textbooks and kanji practice books. I can read and write hiragana and katakana and approximately 300 kanjis.
I find the language and the cultural content reflected in it (in kanjis for example) really fascinating and have opted to continue my study of Japanese full-time, in lieu of joining a regular college next year. I am therefore looking for an intensive program and would like to reach a proficiency level that would allow for fluent conversation on a wide range of topics (non-technica l) and also for fluency in reading and writing.
My comprehension was judged by a local Japanese teacher at being around a JLPT Level II student's. My limited vocabulary and the speed of the conversation limit my comprehension . My speaking speed is quite slow and I feel grammar is an area I particularly need work in.
I am thinking along the lines of devoting 3-4 hours a day (more if required) to my study in Japanese. I am looking for a course where there can be regular interaction with a fluent speaker. However, I am living on campus quite a way out of the main city (The Valley School, Kanakapura Rd.)and want to keep time for various campus-based activities I would much prefer fewer, longer sessions with more self-study. Travelling into the city for classes is not a problem but I would prefer to do it as few times as is efficiently and productively possible.
I would really appreciate any feedback from people teaching the language. Thank you very much.

I'm a beginner in Japanese and i'd like to study Japanese conversation. I live and work in Japan therefore i want to be able to communicate with my hosts. I want to study 1 hour a week studying mainly conversation but i would also like to study the grammar basics in Japanese. I need a dedicated teacher who will use teach me how to communicate with Japanes people using both formal and informal Japanese.
