I have had 1 year of formal education in Russian language, but that was several years ago. I’m looking for a beginner’s level instruction/i ntroduction to Russian language and culture. The content would include greetings, simple/common phrases, common questions, alphabet, etc. I have a girlfriend from Russia and would like enough background that would be helpful in some social situations and potential trips to Russia. I’m a professional with a very busy schedule and don’t want to enroll in any intensive program that I won’t have sufficient time to commit to. Do you have any instruction programs that would serve my needs? Also, do you have any background with Ukrainian language? Thanks.

I lived in Ulan-Ude for 9 months in 2003. Unfortunately , I lived with other English speakers and the NGO hired a translator for me. I have a very basic understanding of the Russian alphabet and some phrases. I have spoken any Russian since May 2004, but would love to start learning again.
