I taught myself to read, after a fashion, Czech books about Czechoslovak postage stamps. I have translated about 50 of these into English and they are quite popular with stamp collectors in the English speaking world. However, I am having difficulty mastering vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar and must resort to a dictionary for almost every word. I have Skype with video and voice, if that is an asset. I have visited the Czech Republic several times during the past few years but I have never learned to speak or write Czech.

The reason I want to learn how to learn these different languages is so I may live there in the future.I would be at the beginner level.I am fairly sure that I will need the most help with grammar and conversations .I will have five out of seven days of the week to practice and learn.I qualities I wish to see in a teacher is a very strict teacher and one that will only tolerate perfection to keep me driven and focused ,also low tolerance for backsliding or laziness.
