I have been living with a Turkish boyfriend in Istanbul for the last 2 years. We are living in San Francisco. But, we will be going back to Turkey at some point. I didn't learn very much Turkish while I was there and am still a beginner. I think this is in part because I am now 51 and languages are more difficult for me now, even though I learned French and Italian when I was in my 20s, as well as a little German. So, new languages aren't foreign to me, and language theory is familiar to me. Nevertheless, Turkish has been a challenge, as it is not an Indo-European language. Anyway, I am intent upon learning Turkish and am, generally a good student and am amiable and easy to work with. I own my own home on Russian Hill, and we can meet there or at a cafe I or somewhere else - I don't care.

I am married to turkish man and we visit Turkey often to see his family and friends. Although he speaks very good english i would like to learn at least basic turkish. I am a staff nurse and work shifts so being able to work over the internet would be better for me i think...
I probably would like an hour a week and some advice on other written or reading material i could study at own leisure between lessons.

My husband is a Turk. And we are happily learning each others languages, however, I make the same mistakes and would like some further instruction now.
