I am interested in a private tutor to learn Catalan because I am planning to move to Barcelona in February 2010 where I will attend a Spanish school that is taught primarily in Catalan.
I am a beginner.
Co nversation would be the area that I would be the most interested in becoming proficient.
I would like to dedicate 1 hour per week to a lesson.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher would be: someone who is from Catalunya and speaks Catalan fluently. I am looking for someone who has experience teaching a language and would know efficient lessons and ways to learn a language.

I am from the United States and am going to be spending some time in South America. I have learned Spanish to a decent level, but do not speak any Portuguese. I would like to learn.
My best experiences learning have been immersive and intensive, and am looking for such instruction. I am not sure yet, but I may be in Manaus in December and would like to spend part of my time there learning my host country's language.

I would like to learn new languages to better prepare for future career options. Also for personal enrichment. I have no experience in other languages outside of spanish and english. I would like to try and dedicate at least 3 hours a day to lessons. Only thing I expect is a native speaking teacher with little to no translation.

I am interested in learning Farsi primarily because I am very interested in the culture, politics and history of Iran. I have become very interested in the country in light of recent months' developments, and I would like to visit one day. As such, I would like to learn some Farsi in order to be able to get along there if I ever go. I do not currently know any Farsi.
