I am looking for a Language teacher who is willing to teach me Japanese. I want to learn Japanese for multiple reasons. I want to learn it for career advancement, I understand that it is beneficial to be able to speak more than one language in America and the other reason why I want to learn Japanese is because I want to participate in one of the Exchange Teacher programs where I go to Japan to teach English for a year or more. When I did this I would love to be fluent in the language before I applied to one of theses programs so improve my chances of being accepted and so that I can speak, read, and write before I get to Japan. Right now my proficiency level is beginner. I would love to be able to have lessons twice a week but once is OK. I would prefer a teacher that is a native speaker of the Japanese language.

I have just begun self learning Japanese this year 2009. I can read and write Hiragana and Katakana. I can also read a little, and when i say little i mean little, bit of Kanji.
It is hard for me to practice conversation because i have no one to practice with and I need help understanding Grammar and putting sentences together.
I am also doing a little bit of Korean. I am trying to learn how to write it^^ I am getting help from a penpal in South Korea, but, sadly I have trouble pronoucing it.
I would like to have a tutor/teacher close to where i live. But i am willing to travel in state.

I am applying to a scholar program in Ethiopia where I will be conducting research, and it is recommended that I learn Amharic. I am in the beginner stages of learning, so I need help in all areas. I am willing to dedicate at least an hour every day to learning the language.
