I am an absolute beginner. I have always wanted to learn French. I can speak German enough to get around, ask directions, etc., but I never had the opportunity to study French in school.
I am a very visual learner. I found this out when I was taking Spanish lessons years ago in Chicago. It was a strictly aural class, and I needed a visual reference. My German teachers in high school and college were very visual. I like to see the words.
I would like to dedicate 10 hours a week at least to learning the language.
The qualities I need in a teacher and lessons are mainly to cater to my need to see what I am saying.

Hi, I traveling to Germany in 2006 for the World Cup for business and pleasure. I am seeking to learn enough German to get by with casual conversion. I have no German language experience; however, am a pretty fast learner. I am a very busy person, meaning I travel Monday through Thursday, work half a day Friday, and generally spend most of my weekend either on the lake or on the golf course. I am willing to spend 20-40 hours a month learning the language. I am seeking a patient teacher.

I work for the US subsidiary of a French skincare company and wish to learn the French language to better both my written and verbal communication with the home office. My proficiency level is beginner. I will dedicate the amount of time necessary for language lessons to truly 'take hold' - be that one to a number of hours per week.
