I would like to learn Swahili because I want to widen my intellectual horizon and learn an African language. I'm a beginner and know no Swahili whatsoever. My son Iliya, who is 5 years old, speaks English with his father and Russian with me. I want him to be perfectly fluent in Russian at the level of (or close to) native proficiency. We are looking for an instructor who can teach him to read and cultivate a passion for reading. We expect a long-term engagement -- 3-5 hours a week. Preferable qualities in the teacher: excellent Russian language (not affected by the knowledge of English); the sense of authority but complemented by sensitivity and compassion; ability to encourage a child to learn, not exerting excessive pressure; vital personality and positive attitude.

Hello,
I would very much like to learn the Urdu/Hindi language and I'm looking for a teacher that spoke Hindi or Urdu as their first language. Experience teaching would be a plus, but really isn't necessary as teaching one's native language comes naturally and relatively easy for most people. Fluency in English, however, is mandatory.
I wish to learn phonetically (roman alphabet), but other than that, I would let you tailor the lessons/struc ture.
Please reply with a little bit about your background, hourly rate, and why you think you'd make a good instructor. Also, please be someone who is patient. I am very serious about this, NOT someone who is ever a quitter, and I would like to find an instructor relatively soon for either hourly or 1.5 hour weekly lessons. If you made it all the through my posting, I do appreciate it!
