Greetings Potential Language Instructors,
I am interested in learning Brasilian Portuguese on my own for self-enrichme nt and possible career advancement opportunties in the future. My current level of proficiency is very beginner- I am essentially just getting started.
I am interested in primarily working with a native speaking tutor 1-2 times per the week M-F primarily in the evenings or perhaps my lunch hour break at either my home or office, which in the central Houston area.

We are in need of a teacher who can teach varying groups of children for one hour a day (five times a week) during the summer and two hours a day for three times a week during the school year.
The hours would be 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. during the school year (August 24, 2009 - June 9, 2010) and 11:00 am - 12:00 pm during the summer. During the school year the 4:30 - 5:30 students would be a group of approximately 10-15 students ages 11 - 17 years of age and the 5:30 - 6:30 group would be approximately 10 students ages 7 - 10. During the summer only the older children would be taking the classes. In addition the summer hours could be changed around if needed. The older group (ages 11-17) has approximately four months experience learning Japanese.
The position pays 20 - 30 an hour (negotiable based on experience). The applicant will also need to pass a Level II Background Screening. I'd like to also stress the point that the applicant needs to be able to work well with children. The goal is to provide the student with basic conversationa l Japanese language skills and that the children enjoy learning it. An experienced teacher would be ideal, but a younger less experienced teacher would be fine as long as they have the passion to teach children.
