- I just obtained an Advanced Swahili certification from KIU in Zanzibar. Prior to that, I studied Swahili for three years at Ohio University's African Studies Center as well as the Summer Cooperative for African Languages Institute(SCA LI). However, I feel I am at an intermediate level.
- I am learning the language for career advancement (in which I must demonstrate proficency by testing).
- I need improvement in reading and listening.
- I would like to dedicate between 2-5 hours a week for 6 months.

My proficiency level in Farsi is beginner. I've been exposed to the language for approximately a year during a recent deployment to Afghanistan. I would like to learn the language in order to advance my career and need improvement in all aspects of the language (i.e. grammar, word recognition/t ranslation, and conversation both formal and informal). Ideally, I would like to dedicate approximately an hour per day 2-3 days a week to the study of the language. I would prefer a language professional who understands or is familiar with the military and the particular needs of soldiers in the language country. S/he needs to have a firm understanding of the English language and translation to Persian. Dialects are important and s/he should understand the differences in Dari and Farsi.
