I am a beginner, I dont speak the language.
I will be moving to Sydney to live and work for a year, end of March (this month)
I am learning this language for personal enjoyment, I have always wanted to learn and self tutoring needs a lot of discipline,
to communicate with and visit my friends and also for possibly future career advancement!
2-3 hours a week, small group teaching welcome, private also, depending on price.
Anyth ing, I enjoy grammar and vocabulary and conversation, understanding the mechanism of the language. I want to achieve proficiency over a year much more than would be expected eg of a tourist, and slowly learn to read basic articles would be amazing.
A teacher that is dedicated, preferably native, enjoys grammar and good conversationa list, i like to be pushed on and get a good feel of the language

I have received private tuition in Japanese for a few years, but have been unable to participate in formal lessons for the past 2yrs. During this time I have attempted to maintain my skills with revision & through email contact with native speakers, but I am keen to begin taking formal lessons again to further my skills. Before I ended tuition I had completed up to Lesson 13 of Japanese for Busy People Book 2 (Revised ed), so I think I am what is referred to as a Pre- Intermediate level student. At present I am in the process of moving back to Sydney from interstate, so I envisage starting around early April if possible; I would like to participate in one-to-one or small group lessons of approximately 1-2hrs per week, time & location are flexible. My listening skills probably need most work, but as I have had almost no conversationa l practise in the last 2 yrs, this is another area I need to concentrate on. I have no specific requirements of my teacher other than she/he be enthusiastic, a little flexible & most importantly patient!! Mata Nihongo o naratte itte tanoshi mi shimasu!! Thankyou.

I am interested in learning Afrikaans as I have been offered work in Botswana. I do not speak any Afrikaans but by December I would like to be able to hold a basic conversation, give and receive directions confidently.
