I am a complete beginner. My boyfriend's family is ethnic Albanian (Montenegro region) and I would like to be able to speak and understand at family events, etc. I am more concerned with conversationa l skills than written fluency, however based on past experience learning other languages, the two tend to go together for me. I work long/unpredic table hours during the week and therefore would need to have lessons on Saturday mornings. I am looking for an actual teacher (not someone who merely speaks the language) who builds his or her lessons on fundamentals (i.e. grammar, verb conjugation) and who will be willing to meet me in Manhattan for lessons.

Hello,
I am a beginner level speaker with no experience with Mandarin. I am presently looking into a possible career change that would include a move to China. Although I am interested in grammar and writing, my main focus is to become functionally conversationa l. I am hoping to spend 2-4 hours per week with my lessons, depending on my tutor's availability. I am looking for a tutor who will push me, but will understand I have no experience with the language. I would also like a teacher who will be able to evaluate my potential with this language.
