Currently, I am here as an English teacher. My primary students are at the business level age range and their English lessons and goals are related to that end. While they do have some initialcompet ency in English I must admit that I do not share an equal standing in Czech. It is my belief that having this knowledge and skill will enhance my lessons with them as well as significantly improve my communication and people interaction skills throughout my stay here in the Czech Republic.

My name is Jonathan Mezera, I am from the USA. I am married to a Czech native, who has become home sick. My wife, my three year old, my 8 month old and I have just moved to Pardubice until the end of Feb., 2007. It is a trial period to see if we like it here and to see if I can learn the language to get by without having my wife translate for me all of the time. My three old and my wife are fluent in both Czech and English. I am a beginner but I have taken some lessons and I listen to Pimsluer language tapes. I would like to meet with a private tutor twice a week for one and a half hour lessons. My schedule is very flexible. I would like to become proficient in conversation and improve my annunciation.

My proficiency level of Mandarin is probably still beginner, I know about over 500 characters. Why studying? I'm interesting in china(general y in foreign culture) I would like to visit china for about more than one year, and take some courses over there. I would like to get some conversation skills especially. So, good pronunciation of teacher is worth. To take about 1-2 class hours a week should be fine.

I am an American student studying at Masaryk University in Brno. I will write my thesis on Americans living in small towns in the Czech Republic and what their lives are like in terms on integration.
