I travel to China on Business and need to learn mandarin to make my job easier and allow myself to be understood clearer.
I speak a little bit now and understand a bit more.
I would like to have someone come in once per week to my home to meet and teach myself and my wife the language.

I have some textbooks I can use already, as I just got back from studying in Guangzhou for several months. As far as Mandarin goes, I am a complete beginner. But I'm very interested in learning Mandarin for a variety of reasons -- the most important being that my new sister-in-law is from China, and her English is not the greatest, so I'd like to learn her language and be able to have meaningful conversations with her! Conversationa l Mandarin is obviously the first thing I'd like to learn, but eventually it would also be nice to be able to read menus at Chinese restaurants and such. I work full time until about 6pm every day, so lessons once or twice a week after that would be ideal for me. A teacher with a powerful command of both Mandarin and English is important to me.
