I am a beginner in both Polish and Japanese. I know more Japanese than Polish, if only because I come into contact with it more often, in watching Japanese cartoons (anime) with subtitles.
I wish to learn Polish because I am of Polish decent, half Polish, and my father never taught me. I have always wanted to learn my own language, and my heritage is very important to me. I want to learn Japanese because I am highly interested in the culture and intend some day to go to Japan. However, this is not as important to me as learning Polish. More of a hobby. I find it a must that I get to go to Poland some day.
I feel like I have steady accents in both language and, more often then not, can read a passage, but I do not understand the meaning. I need to work on vocabulary first, obviously, and then move on to verb conjugation. With Japanese, I know it'll be harder because of how different the sentence structure is.
I am a high school student, only fifteen, so I cannot devote too much time to learning either of these languages. I participate in all of the school drama productions, as well as the track team, and I also happen to get quite a bit of homework. But this is something I want to make work.
I'm looking for a strict and efficient teacher who can teach me what I need to know at a good steady pace.

I am absolutely a beginner. My husband is Polish and I know very little from listening to his phone conversations or speaking to his mom!!!
I want to learn so that I can communicate with him in Polish, and with his family when we visit Poland.
I can spend an hour or so in classes every week, and will practice all the time. I am looking for a teacher with a sense of humor, but who is serious... and someone who will teach me using sight/sound/g ames... anything that is creative and interesting and fun...
But I am dedicated and a good learner.
