My proficiency level is between beginner and intermediate. I lived in Nanjing, Jiangsu, China for one year and have taught myself Mandarin for the past year. I am learning Mandarin out of personal interest but would like to study at an intense level i.e. fast paced. My focus will be not as much on reading/writi ng but more on spoken conversationa l Mandarin. Grammar (sentence structure) as well as pronunciation are my largest focus. I would be willing to dedicate up to 8 hours per week to private lessons and, as well, study on my own. I would like the teacher to have an excellent command of modern Pu Tong Hua and to be flexible with lesson plans. I have several texts including the NEW PRACTICAL CHINESE READER text, although, any text will suffice as the focus will be mostly on conversation.

I am looking for a native mandarin speaker to teach my son on a sunday morning during term time. He has attended school in Shanghai for 3 years and so has already reached a reasonable level.I now want him to retain what he has already learnt and to improve further.
You must be prepared to come to him to teach as he is at boarding school and is not allowed to leave the premises.

* I would like to learn Mandarin for both personal and career development.
* Actually, I want to start off with the basics, meaning 'everyday conversation' Mandarin, effectively moving towards writing proficiency, I hope.
