I'm have no background of the language but I want to learn how to read, write and be able to converse using the laguage. My reasons for learning is for business and also for career advancement. I can spend 4 hours during weekends or 2 hours every mondays to fridays 4:00pm to 6:00pm. My family is interested in learning simplified Chinese (speaking, reading and writing). We are English speaking, with no previous experience with Chinese, and are learning it for personal interest. We have in mind 1 to 2 hours tutoring per week (in person) with homework in between sessions. There would be 2-3 students of various ages.

I'm a beginner in Chinese Mandarin and an inermediate-b eginner French student. I am learning French in High school and Chinese just for fun. I eant to focus more in Chinese since I already have French classes.In chinese I need a lot of help with writting ( I dont know anything), I am okay with grammar but I want to study it in depth, and I want a lot of practice on conversation and tones.I want to dedicate at least an hour a week for the language.
The qualities I am looking for in my teacher and lessons would be:
~to set up a time and day that is convenient for me
~maybe have the lesson at my house
~Have some sort of workbook and homework where I can practice my languague
~ I would like my teacher to speak to me in Chinese as much as they can (or I can understand) during a lesson.
~ Have something to work on for the next lesson (homework)
~ a nice and understanding teacher that also incorporates some culture. I love the asian culture.
~so meone that would make my learning time worth while and enjoyable.
